Importance of the e-bill and legal timetable

The introduction of e-invoicing is primarily intended to combat VAT fraud. It is therefore clear that the adaptation of processes to the e-invoice is unavoidable.

What is an e-bill?

The "E" stands for electronic. An e-invoice is therefore invoice information that is sent purely electronically.

What time and legal framework needs to be observed?

Valid for all companies from:

January 1, 2025

Paper invoices are becoming less important: although they may still be sent for the next two years with the consent of the recipient, in principle all companies must be able to receive e-invoices.

January 1, 2027

Companies with > 800 T Euro turnover in the previous year must send e-invoices in the B2B sector.
Companies with < EUR 800 thousand turnover in the previous year may continue to send other invoices (PDF, paper, etc.).

January 1, 2028

All companies in the B2B sector must send e-invoices. The technical systems must be adapted to the legal requirements.
