Relief for flood victims

Baden-Württemberg and Bavaria have responded to the sometimes devastating floods caused by the heavy rainfall with the usual tax relief for those affected and for helpers in the event of natural disasters.

The finance ministries of these two federal states have responded to the enormous flooding in some areas of Bavaria and Baden-Württemberg caused by the heavy rainfall at the beginning of June with a disaster decree. This means that those directly affected can obtain deferrals of taxes due until October 31, 2024, an adjustment of advance payments or a stay of execution from the tax office under simplified conditions. If accounting documents or other records have been lost due to the flood, the tax office will also take this into account. Relief payments and donations for those affected are also possible under simplified conditions. The measures essentially correspond to the relief already granted for previous natural disasters.
