Support for earthquake victims in Turkey and Syria

Donations and aid for earthquake victims are subject to various tax deductions and obligations to provide evidence for tax purposes.

The major earthquake in February caused great human suffering and massive damage to infrastructure in Turkey and Syria. Due to the high level of sympathy and willingness to donate among the population, the Federal Ministry of Finance has ordered the same relief measures to support the victims of the earthquake that were already in place for previous natural disasters of particular magnitude. The special regulations make it easier for donors, organizations and companies as well as their employees to provide aid. The simplification regulations apply to assistance provided from February 6, 2023 to December 31, 2023. In addition to simplifications for donations and aid campaigns by non-profit organizations, support from companies for those affected and business partners is regulated in particular.
