Non-cash remuneration values for 2023

Due to the current very high inflation rate, the annual adjustment of the remuneration in kind values is very high this time.

The Federal Council has approved the new remuneration in kind values for 2023. The values are adjusted to the development of consumer prices from June 2021 to June 2022, and the adjustment is correspondingly large. For meals, the increase is 6.7 %, for accommodation even a whopping 10.0 %. In 2023, the remuneration in kind will be uniform across Germany

• 265 euros per month (2022: 241 euros) or 8.83 euros per day for free accommodation;

• 9.60 per calendar day for free or reduced-price meals (2022: €9.00), of which €2.00 is for breakfast and €3.80 each for lunch or dinner. The monthly non-cash benefit value is 288 euros (previously 270 euros; breakfast 60 instead of 56 euros, lunch and dinner 114 instead of 107 euros).
