Entitlement to increased short-time allowance extended

The increased entitlement to short-time allowance for employees from the fourth month of receipt will now continue until the end of March 2022.

The special rules for short-time allowance introduced as part of the Corona pandemic will be extended until March 31, 2022. Among other things, this relates to additional earnings from marginal employment that are not subject to offsetting and entitlement to increased short-time allowance: Employees who are on short-time working for more than three months will continue to receive a supplement. From the fourth month of receipt, the short-time allowance is 70 % of the difference from the previous net wage, and from the seventh month 80 %. If a child lives in the household, the benefit rate increases to 77 or 87 %. The increased payments will also apply from January 2022 to people who have had to go on short-time working for the first time since April 2021.
