Lump sums for foreign travel remain unchanged in 2022

Due to the pandemic, the same per diem rates for meals and lodging will apply for foreign travel in 2022 as in 2021.

The German Federal Ministry of Finance has now pointed out that, due to the pandemic, the lump sums for additional subsistence expenses and accommodation costs for business-related travel abroad will not be revised as of January 1, 2022. Thus, the amounts published in December 2020 with effect from January 1, 2021 will continue to apply unchanged for the calendar year 2022.
