Higher minimum wage since July 2021
On July 1, 2021, the second stage of the four-stage increase in the minimum wage went into effect.
Because the statutory minimum wage has always been adjusted every two years up to now, some employers have overlooked the fact that, contrary to previous practice, semi-annual adjustments will apply this year and next. This is because the statutory minimum wage is to rise in four stages to 10.45 euros by July 1, 2022. On January 1, 2021, the first increase to initially 9.50 euros gross per hour worked came into force. Half a year later, i.e. since July 1, 2021, the second increase of a further 10 cents to 9.60 euros will now apply. Pay attention to this adjustment when you pay your wages!
