ElsterForm available for the last time for 2019 tax return

The ElsterFormular software will no longer be updated by the tax authorities from 2020. The ELSTER website is available as an alternative.

The Bavarian State Tax Office, which provides the various ELSTER services for electronic tax data transactions for all German states, would like to point out that the ElsterFormular software will be available for the last time for the preparation of tax returns for the year 2019. This does not mean that the software will no longer be usable from 2020, but only that no new input forms will be available in the software for the 2020 tax year. As an alternative to ElsterFormular, the tax authorities offer the website "My ELSTER", which can be used not only to file tax returns, but also to send various electronic applications, notifications and appeals to the tax office.
