Inheritance tax reform not until 2016
The grand coalition actually wanted to get the new inheritance tax regulations off the table this year, but now has to postpone the project until the new year.
The Federal Constitutional Court has set a deadline of June 30, 2016 for the revision of the preferential treatment of business assets. The reform of the inheritance tax has therefore been debated since the beginning of the year. The grand coalition actually wanted to pass the amendment before the turn of the year. However, following a hearing of experts in the Bundestag, the coalition has identified a new need for consultation, meaning that the reform cannot be passed before 2016.
