From O to O: Summer tires on, income tax down!
Easter is approaching and with it the stable warmer temperatures - what's your situation? Have you already fitted your summer tires or are you still planning to change them? Annoying? No way! Because the changeover can be worthwhile in terms of tax.
If you are an entrepreneur, trader or self-employed person and drive a company car or if your employees use such a vehicle, you can deduct certain costs in your tax return.
But beware: There are clear rules on who can deduct which expenses and how the tax deduction works!
You can claim these costs against tax
✔️ Tires & Mounting
If your vehicle is part of your business assets or is leased, both the purchase of new tires and the cost of replacing them are fully deductible as business expenses.
✔️ Private vehicle with professional use
If you use your private car for business trips, you can deduct the costs for tires and assembly as business expenses or income-related expenses on a pro rata basis. It depends on whether you keep a logbook or apply the 1-% rule.
