WSB figure of the month: 14.60 euros - The minimum wage increases in two steps
The statutory minimum wage in Germany is currently 12.82 Euro per hour. The Minimum Wage Commission has now two-stage increase decided:
👉 From January 2026: Increase to 13,90 Euro per hour - an increase of 1.08 euros
👉 From January 2027: Further increase to 14,60 Euro - an additional increase of 0.70 euros
🔍 What does that mean in concrete terms?
From 2026, anyone working full-time on the minimum wage can expect to earn around 190.00 euros gross more per month look forward to.
From 2027, the amount will even rise to 310.00 euros per month (compared to 2025).
