Astonishing court rulings: No flight, no hearing?
A lawyer must not rule out an alternative journey by car or train!
What happened?
An authorized representative was due to appear at an oral hearing before the Federal Fiscal Court (BFH) in Munich. On the evening before the hearing, he declared that his flight from Düsseldorf, which had been booked for the following morning, had been canceled.
However, the BFH refused to cancel the hearing. In the court's opinion, the legal representative should have explained why he could not have traveled by train or car. This was obviously out of the question for him.
What do you think, can the lawyer be expected to travel spontaneously by train or car to the BFH?
After all, there are a good 600 km between Düsseldorf and Munich.
