WSB informs: Special depreciation for e-vehicles

The German government is planning a special depreciation allowance for newly registered all-electric and zero-emission vehicles. Is this just an electrifying plan or is it soon to become an exciting reality? 😊

WSB summarizes. There are currently plans for companies: Over a period of six years, companies are to be able to write off the acquisition costs - starting at a rate of 40% - against tax. This is to apply to purchases from July 2024 to December 2028.

Employees who use an electric company car privately can currently pay tax on the non-cash benefit at a reduced rate, provided the vehicle cost no more than 70,000 euros. The maximum limit is to be raised to 95,000 euros.

The underlying Tax Reform Act is still in the early stages of the legislative process. However, we at WSB have the developments on our radar and can advise you on favorable structuring options.
