Full house at the third WSB "Trainee Camp"! 🎓 A day full of exchange, workshops and valuable knowledge
Whether training or studying, it has become a tradition at WSB to award our new trainees and students with the "Trainee-Camp" among our trainees. Whether in the fall or spring - twice a year, our WSB "Trainee-Camp" is a firm fixture in the calendar when it comes to internal training for our young talents.
The third WSB edition was held on October 23. 😊 Whether new or more experienced - everyone had the opportunity not only to acquire new knowledge or deepen their training content, but also to exchange ideas across locations.
After a relaxed "get together" in the morning, the day started with our external speaker Jason Dorn, from the BARMER health insuranceand an exciting workshop on the topic of "Learning with a tailwind". The one-hour seminar enabled our participants to determine their own learning type and discover suitable learning methods for their individual learning and professional lives. "These kinds of training opportunities are crucial for promoting young talent and creating future-oriented learning experiences," comments Jochen Hummelpartner and tax consultant at the Heidelberg office, who is also responsible for training at WSB, explained the decision to make the offer.
During the small break that followed, our participants were able to discuss their newly acquired knowledge and review what they had learned together.
The morning continued with a moderated discussion on current topics from the world of tax and the use of AI in everyday working life. "Our trainees experience the dynamics of our industry and its challenges. The traineeCamp creates a platform that facilitates the transfer of knowledge and promotes personal development," says Jochen Hummel, describing the guiding principle behind the special day.
Two further intensive workshops in the afternoon rounded off the varied program. The first was dedicated to the topic of wages, before our trainees and students learned the basics of VAT in the second workshop. Martha Guzowski, business economist (VWA) and payroll team leader at WSB in Heidelberg, and Svetlana Ryzhenkopartner and tax consultant at WSB's Mannheim office, imparted basic knowledge and deepened previously acquired knowledge, which was illustrated with practical case studies. Our varied day was rounded off with group work followed by a presentation.
But no traineeCamp-The event concluded without a feedback session. And the feedback from our organizers and speakers was consistently positive. 😊 "I learned an incredible amount again, especially in the practical workshops," summarizes Viktoria Makridou, trainee tax clerk. And Benjamin Keck, a dual student on the Tax and Auditing course in his second year, adds: "It was great to be taught so much knowledge tailored to our needs that we can apply and implement directly."
We are delighted that this special day was so valuable for both our new and more experienced young talents. Many thanks to our WSB organizers Cecilia Atas, assistant to the head of the law firm and project manager, as well as Sabine Barth and Thomas Heim, both training officers and tax clerks at WSB in Heidelberg and Ludwigshafen. We would also like to thank Ann-Sophie Tonko, responsible for HR, for accompanying us through the day. And a big thank you to all our speakers Jason Dorn, Jochen Hummel, Svetlana Ryzhenko and Martha Guzowski as well as all our participants! 🙌
Once again, the trainee camp was an all-round success and did a lot to strengthen our junior staff. We wish you all continued success in your training.
